Image via WikipediaIf I thought I had landed a good buy when I paid 99 cents a pound for organic chicken legs at ShopRite in Hackensack today (see previous post), Whole Foods Market in Paramus really surprised me with a sale on free-range turkey drumsticks and wings.
I bought 5 pounds of turkey drumsticks for 49 cents a pound this afternoon -- a total of $2.59 for six drumsticks divided among three trays. They went right into the freezer.
The parts came from turkeys raised on vegetarian feed and without antibiotics.
